Srinagar: A landslide struck the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Yatra track near the Ban Ganga receipt counter on Monday morning causing a brief halt in the pilgrimage.
An official told JKNS that the landslide led to injuries to at least three to four pilgrims, who were later rescued and shifted for medical attention.
Soon after the incident, rescue teams including Police, Shrine Board personnel, and local authorities launched a swift operation to clear debris and assist the stranded pilgrims.
Officials said that the yatra was temporarily halted but has now resumed via an alternative route to ensure smooth and safe passage for devotees.
Authorities are closely monitoring the situation and have advised pilgrims to cooperate with officials and follow safety guidelines. (JKNS)
