Srinagar: Apni Party President and former minister Syed Altaf Bukhari on Wednesday called Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chief Mehbooba Mufti as Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) product and stated that it is unfortunate that she has realized the change out of power.
Talking to the reporters here, Bukhari, as per KNO said that “it is unfortunate that Mehbooba Ji has realized a change as this should have been taking place while in power.”
He was reacting to a query on her statement wherein she stated that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi can resolve the issue of Jammu and Kashmir. “We have been clear on this since 2020 that whatever people of J&K need, it can be given by the Government of India only,” he said.
“We know these parties. We belonged to them. We know how the petition was not signed for floor testing against BJP when the fax machine didn’t work. We were told that ‘we cannot sign the petition as we will be forming the government with them again’,” Bukhari recalled.
Calling Mehbooba as the product of BJP, Bukhari said that she is by the BJP and for the BJP.
About the Srinagar encounter, Bukhari said, “I congratulate the security forces for killing the terrorist involved in Pahalgam attack. However, I urge the Home Minister Amit Shah to release all the people, who have been arrested since April 22 on the basis of suspicion as the real attackers have now been neutralized.”
About Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s statement on hoping for the restoration of statehood to J&K in the ongoing Monsoon Session, Bukhari said, maybe they are knowing something in this regard as they are in the government here and are also in touch with the centre.
“We only know that the people of J&K need to be strong and must not lose hope in getting their rights back from Delhi. Statehood will be restored. If they (government) fail to do so, we will take up the matter and know how to convince the centre for its restoration,” he added.
Furthermore, he congratulated Member of Parliament from Srinagar Lok Sabha Constituency, Aga Ruhulla Mehdi for speaking in favour and as per the aspirations and interests of J&K people. (KNO)
