Srinagar: Reacting to the reported restrictions faced by former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Hurriyat chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq said the experience reflects the daily reality of ordinary Kashmiris.
“Power teaches little, Powerlessness teaches more!” Mirwaiz tweeted, adding that Omar had “tasted the bitter medicine of authoritarian high handedness and helplessness” that people in Kashmir deal with regularly.
He expressed hope that this would shift the former CM’s focus toward protecting dignity and restoring the fundamental rights of the people.
The comment has sparked conversation online, with many saying political leaders must now acknowledge the very system they once upheld.
