Kupwara, April 9, :At approximately 11:27 PM, a fire incident was reported to the District Fire Control Room Kupwara regarding a massive blaze at the Kupwara Main Bus Stand.
Upon arrival at the scene, Fire and Emergency Services personnel observed that six buses were fully engulfed in flames. Firefighting operations were immediately initiated, and after several hours of sustained efforts, the fire was successfully brought under control.
A total of seven buses were affected in the incident:
Three buses were severely damaged
Three buses sustained partial damage
One bus was affected by heat and smoke
The Fire and Emergency Services personnel displayed exceptional bravery and professionalism in containing the fire and preventing it from spreading further.
The operation was carried out under the overall supervision of Alok Kumar, ADGP F&ES, with senior officials present on the ground to oversee and manage the situation.
No loss of life or injuries have been reported. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
