ANANTNAG, 01 May : The Department of Community Medicine GMC Anantnag successfully organized a Biomedical Research Methodology Workshop for postgraduate students from April 28- 29 2025 at Main Campus Dialgam at GMC Anantnag
The objective of the workshop was to enhance the research capabilities of postgraduate DNB students by providing a comprehensive understanding of biomedical research methods. Key topics included Formulation of research question, aims and objectives, sample size calculation, review of literature,research design, data collection techniques, biostatistics,incidence and prevalence, ethical issues in research, diagostic accuracy ,synopsis/ thesis writing and bibliography.
The workshop was coordinated under the guidance of Dr. Fouzia Nazir Head, Department of Community Medicine GMC Anantnag. She highlighted the department’s commitment to academic growth. “This workshop reflects our ongoing efforts to integrate research training into postgraduate education.”she added
Dr Mahbooba Rasool Associate Professor community Medicine and MEU Coordinator, also appreciated the initiative. “Medical Education today demands not only clinical competence but also the ability to engage in research and innovation.
Principal Prof (Dr) Rukhsana Najeeb appreciated the efforts of the Department of Community Medicine and emphasized the importance of such academic initiatives. “Workshops like these play a crucial role in shaping the research acumen of budding medical professionals.She commend the faculty and organizers for their dedication to academic excellence.”she added
Interactive sessions, group discussions, and practical exercises helped ensure active participation and skill development. The workshop concluded with a valedictory session and vote of thanks .
This initiative reflects the department’s continued commitment to fostering academic excellence and promoting evidence-based healthcare practices.
