RPHQ Srinagar Concludes 05 Days Specialised Cyber Investigation Training Under The Supervision of DIG CKR Srinagar

Srinagar, Feb 13: The Deputy Inspector General of Police, CKR Srinagar Shri Rajiv Omprakash Pandey-IPS successfully organized a comprehensive five-day training programme on cyber security and modern investigative techniques, commenced on February 09, 2025, at the Jammu & Kashmir Police Public School (JKPPS), Srinagar. The programme culminated today, marking a significant step towards strengthening the professional capabilities of police personnel in addressing emerging cyber threats.

 

The training programme witnessed the active participation of more than 200 police personnel drawn from across Central Kashmir Range, with a particular focus on Investigating Officers serving in Srinagar, Budgam, and Ganderbal. The initiative was designed to equip officers with advanced knowledge and practical skills necessary to combat the rapidly evolving challenges in the domain of cyber security and cybercrime investigations.

 

The primary objective of the programme was to familiarize police personnel with the latest technological advancements, investigative methodologies and legal frameworks relevant to cybercrime. Given the increasing prevalence of cyber-related offences, the training emphasized contemporary techniques, digital evidence handling, cyber forensic procedures, online fraud detection, social media analysis and data privacy considerations.

 

Throughout the five-day programme, subject matter experts and experienced professionals delivered specialized sessions on a wide range of topics. These sessions provided participants with valuable insights into current cyber threat landscapes, including financial frauds, identity theft, hacking incidents, online radicalization, and digital financial crimes. The experts also highlighted the importance of proactive policing strategies, inter-agency coordination and community awareness in preventing cyber offences.

 

The training sessions were structured to blend theoretical knowledge with practical applications. Participants engaged in interactive discussions and scenario-based exercises aimed at enhancing problem-solving skills and investigative efficiency. Officers were trained in identifying / securing electronic devices, preserving digital evidence and utilizing advanced analytical tools to track cybercriminal activities.

 

Senior officers of CKR underscored the significance of continuous capacity building in modern policing. They emphasized that cybercrime presents unique complexities that demand specialized expertise and adaptability. By organizing such training programmes, the police department aims to ensure that its personnel remain well-prepared to respond effectively to technologically sophisticated criminal activities.

 

The successful completion of the training programme reflects the proactive approach of DIG CKR Srinagar in enhancing the professional competencies of police personnel. Such initiatives are expected to significantly contribute to improving investigative standards, expediting case resolutions and safeguarding citizens against cyber threats.
