Srinagar, October 8: Inspector General of Police, Kashmir Zone, Sujit Kumar Singh, IPS, felicitated the Srinagar Police team for successfully busting an organised inter-state narcotics network operating in Downtown Srinagar.
The team, led by SSP Srinagar Dr G.V. Sundeep Chakravarthy, IPS, included Zonal SP Showkat Ahmad, SDPO M.R. Ganj Junaid Wali, and officers of Police Station M.R. Ganj.
The network was unearthed during the investigation of FIR No. 135/2026 registered at Police Station Safakadal, leading to the arrest of eight accused persons and the recovery of large quantities of narcotic substances, cash, gold and other valuable assets worth crores of rupees.
The investigation also revealed inter-state linkages and financial channels associated with the organised drug-trafficking network.
IGP Kashmir appreciated the Srinagar Police team for its professionalism, dedication and sustained investigative efforts, and urged officers to continue firm action against organised crime and narcotics trafficking.
Srinagar Police reiterated its commitment to dismantling drug-trafficking networks, targeting their financial infrastructure and taking stringent action against those involved in the narcotics trade.
