Srinagar, May 26: In a major action against narcotics trafficking under the ongoing anti-drug campaign in Jammu & Kashmir, the Srinagar Police on Monday attached an immovable property worth approximately ₹1 crore belonging to an alleged notorious drug peddler in Anantnag district.

The attached property comprises a residential house owned by Aamir Hassan Mir, son of Ghulam Hassan Mir, a resident of Bonpora Dupatyar, Bijbehara. The house is constructed on land falling under Khasra No. 134 at Bonpora Dupatyar in Bijbehara, Anantnag.

According to police, the action was taken under Section 68(F) of the NDPS Act in connection with FIR No. 17/2026 registered under Sections 8/20 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Shergari, Srinagar.

The attachment proceedings were carried out in the presence of the Executive Magistrate 1st Class, Bijbehara, after completion of all legal formalities. Authorities stated that the property cannot be sold, transferred, or otherwise dealt with without prior permission from the competent authority.

Reiterating its commitment to the “Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan,” Srinagar Police said it will continue taking stringent legal action against individuals involved in drug trafficking and related criminal activities.

Police also appealed to the public to cooperate with law enforcement agencies and share information regarding drug peddling and narcotics networks to help build a drug-free society.
