Srinagar, June 13, KNT: A new Kashmiri musical production titled Saaqiyaa has been released by ZYEZ Originals, bringing together a team of lyricists, vocalists, musicians and filmmakers in a project centered on themes of love, longing and emotional connection.
The song has been written by famed lyricist Peer Zahoor and composed by Nasir Ahmad, who has also lent his voice to the track alongside Firdous Ahmad and Tabaan Feroz.
According to the creators, “Saaqiyaa” seeks to capture emotions associated with love, memories and separation through a blend of melody, poetry and visual storytelling. The production combines contemporary musical arrangements with traditional influences to create a romantic and reflective listening experience.
The music has been arranged, mixed and mastered by Shahid Vaakhs, while the video has been directed by MJ Nasir. Cinematography was handled by Ayaz Rather and editing and color grading were carried out by Mohsin Mir.
The production also features contributions from several instrumentalists, including flute artist Sadiq Hussain, mandolin player Harmeet Singh, harmonium player Shakir Bhat, guitarist Anas Bin Tariq and keyboardist Rayees Rehbar.
Industry observers say the release reflects the growing trend of independent music production in Kashmir, where local artists are increasingly collaborating to create original content and reach wider audiences through digital platforms.
