Dr. Showkat Hussain Tali Appointed J&K State Academic Coordinator for IAP Neonatal Resuscitation Programme

Aantnag, July 25: Dr. Showkat Hussain Tali, Head of the Department of Pediatrics at Government Medical College (GMC) Anantnag, has been appointed as the State Academic Coordinator for Jammu & Kashmir under the Indian Academy of Pediatrics’ Neonatal Resuscitation Programme (IAP-NRP-FGM Project), with immediate effect until December 31, 2026.

The appointment was announced by the IAP NRP FGM Project Office in recognition of Dr. Tali’s contributions to neonatal resuscitation and pediatric healthcare. In his new role, he will lead efforts to expand the NRP network and strengthen academic leadership across Jammu & Kashmir.

Dr. Tali also serves as a National Trainer for Basic and Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Programme (NRP) and IAP Advanced Life Support (ALS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) courses. Additionally, he is the State Coordinator for IAP ALS & BLS courses across Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh.

The appointment is being hailed as a significant recognition of pediatric academic leadership from the region and is expected to enhance neonatal care, training, and capacity building across J&K and Ladakh.
