Srinagar Police Attaches Properties Worth ₹5 Crore in Major Crackdown on Drug Networks

 

Srinagar, May 23: Intensifying its anti-narcotics drive under the Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan – 100 Days Campaign, Srinagar Police has attached multiple immovable properties worth nearly ₹5 crore linked to alleged drug traffickers across Srinagar and adjoining districts under provisions of the NDPS Act.
According to police, several residential properties belonging to accused persons involved in different NDPS cases were attached after completion of legal formalities and in the presence of revenue officials and local witnesses.
Among the attached properties were two residential houses belonging to Bilal Ahmad Sheikh and Aneek Ahmad Sheikh of Larbal Beerwah in Budgam district, both accused in FIR No. 37/2024 registered at Saddar Police Station under Section 8/20 of the NDPS Act. The properties are valued at around ₹30 lakh and ₹50 lakh respectively.
In another case, police attached a double-storeyed residential house worth approximately ₹1 crore belonging to Suhaib Farooq Khan of Mini Colony, Chanapora, involved in FIR No. 15/2023 under Section 8/21 of the NDPS Act registered at Chanapora Police Station.
A three-storeyed residential house with attic belonging to Mohsin Ibrahim Naqash of Jawahar Nagar, Srinagar, was also attached in connection with FIR No. 42/2026 under Sections 8/21 and 29 of the NDPS Act registered at Saddar Police Station. The property is estimated to be worth around ₹1 crore.
Similarly, a three-storeyed residential house belonging to Farhan Manzoor Pandit of Kursoo Rajbagh, linked to FIR No. 18/2026 under Section 8/21 NDPS Act of Rajbagh Police Station, was attached. The property has an estimated value of ₹50 lakh.
Police Station Karan Nagar also attached a double-storeyed residential house belonging to Fayaz Ahmad Rather of Ajas, Bandipora, in connection with FIR No. 01/2025 under Sections 8/21, 29 NDPS Act and Section 111 BNS.
In a separate action, police attached a double-storeyed residential house at Bakshiabad, Bemina, belonging to Abid Hassan Dar, accused in FIR No. 18/2022 of Batamaloo Police Station under Sections 8/21, 29, 27-A NDPS Act and Sections 468, 471 and 473 IPC. The property is valued at approximately ₹1.7 crore.
Police said investigations revealed that the attached properties were allegedly acquired through proceeds generated from illicit drug trafficking. The attachments were carried out under Sections 68-F and 68-E of the NDPS Act as part of efforts to dismantle the financial networks supporting narcotics trade.
Reaffirming its commitment to eradicate the drug menace, Srinagar Police warned that strict legal action, including attachment and forfeiture of illegally acquired assets, will continue against those involved in drug peddling and related unlawful activities.
The police also appealed to the public to share information regarding drug trafficking or substance abuse, assuring that the identity of informants would be kept strictly confidential.
